How To Taste Honey

FLAVOR
Honey’s color, flavor, and aroma all derive from the plant pigments and other materials secreted in the nectar, making the honey from each floral source unique.

COLOR
The color can range from almost as clear as whitish amber to nearly dark brown. The flavor and aroma of honey are interlinked as both are caused by amounts of complex plant derived substances.

TASTE
Honey is sweet because of its high sugar content, but some honey will taste sweeter than others because it has a higher proportion of fructose to glucose.

FACT
Darker honey has a higher mineral content than lighter honey.
